You can often get lost in pet stores, traversing the winding alleys that line the racks of pet food, pet beds and bowls. Most of them resemble the interior design of small grocery stores. In her design, architect Malgorzata Hendrych-Lubinskayadecided to propose a slightly different, more spacious solution.
In the amaZOOnka store in Bytow , one must follow the footsteps of the animals - the dog's paws reflected on the floor direct us from the entrance directly to the cash register, where one can count on the help of the seller. Pet stores are quite specific due to the wide assortment offered. You'll find large-sized items like beds for large dogs or carriers, and quite tiny ones like rodent drinkers. Such a range poses a design challenge for the architect. Malgorzata Hendrych-Lubinskaya of the {tag:pracownie} studio had an idea for organizing the space.
When it came to choosing materials, the designer was inspired by the natural environment of animals

inspired by the natural environment of animals
The architect's main concept was to delineate the different sections. For this purpose, cubes labeled with images of animals - dogs, cats, rodents, amphibians and fish - are to be used. As for the choice of materials, the designer was inspired by the natural environment of animals. Hence, wood and a lot of greenery appeared, including in a horseshoe-shaped store counter-accessory placed in the central part of the room. The wooden structure above it, creates the interior of the room. It is an imitation of a cage, but an open cage - it has neither beginning nor end. This is to emphasize that the animal should enjoy freedom, including when it lives with humans.
Articles of different sizes would be difficult to place on one shelf. The shelving system solution allowed us to divide the space into sections - each dedicated to a different animal. On the shelf to the left of the entrance, pegs have been installed on which to hang toys, leashes or clothes for animals of similar size. The right side of the store features shelves that can accommodate larger accessories, such as kennels or bags of food.
