The opulent volume is more than 260 square meters. From the threshold it delights and intrigues - not only with the interior, but also with the cuisine served here. The restaurant is located in the former bookstore of the State Publishing Institute - the Opasły Tom is therefore a place where you can eat, but also where you can read. Not just cookbooks!
In addition to the bookstore of the State Publishing Institute, the premises once housed Oaza, a cult restaurant in pre-war Warsaw famous for its excellent cuisine, dancing and cabaret. Today, we can also eat well at Opasły Toma - it serves Polish cuisine with a modern twist. You'll find noodles and dumplings, of course, but also cod with fennel, aniseed and potato purée with buttermilk!
AbboundTom was listed as one of the world's most beautiful restaurants according to the Wallpaper Design Awards 2020, thanks to {tag:pracownie}, which is responsible for the interior design. The restaurant consists of a series of dining rooms of different scales on two levels. It also houses a bar with a reading room - a lounge - a wine cellar and a fine-dining, semi-open kitchen.
The unifying element of the interior was the use of nature-inspired colors - coral, sage, honey and ink

The unobvious functional layout of the interior was the biggest challenge for the architects. They were looking for a solution that would unite all the rooms into one cohesive whole serving a unique aesthetic experience to the clients. The unifying element of the interior was the use of nature-inspired colors - coral, sage, honey and ink. Each of these defines individual rooms.
in the rhythm of a pre-war cabaret
The walls were lined with corrugated metal sheets covered with velvet, which heightened the impression of cohesion. They evoke thoughts of wavy surfaces or a curtain from behind which a cabaret star is about to emerge. In addition to aesthetic value, such a solution also improved the acoustics of the space. Against the azure background, the furniture, referring in its design to the art déco style, covered with poplar veneer and natural, unpolished, raw marble, stands out.
Everyone's attention is drawn to the lamps, whose shades of various shapes and sizes were handmade. They complement the interiors, harmonizing with the scale and function of each room.
A culinary oasis on two levels
The upper level of the Opasny Tom is visible from the street through expansive windows. So the architects decided to make it more elegant in character. Special celebrations and meetings are held here. There is also a secret room called the "oasis" finished entirely in a chequered and floral patterned fabric in the art noveau style and houses only one table. The lower level welcomes guests with a more casual atmosphere, dedicated to less formal occasions. On the first floor, on the other hand, there is a reception room, with views of Warsaw's historic buildings reflected in tall mirrors.
