Let's take a look at the city! OEES Prologue: Kraków Day

09 of November '21

The prologue to this year's Open Eyes Economy Summit will be a unique event - the Krakow Day scheduled for Monday (November 15) - a series of debates under the title "Urban Scene. We're reviewing the city," in which invited guests will discuss Krakow's present and the city's plans for the future. The event will be moderated by Tomasz Janowski, member of the OEES Program Council, and Małgorzata Tomczak, editor-in-chief of Architektura & Biznes monthly and portal.

The Modern City is a complex system. To understand it well, it is necessary to see how it functions as a living organism. [...] Panel discussions built in a block of several hours will form a multi-threaded narrative about the potential and weaknesses of Krakow, the present and future of our city, its place in the urban network of Poland and Europe. They will allow us to look at our city as a whole, both symbolically and in terms of engineering, the organizers announced.

What exactly will the discussions be about? Among other things, modern urban management, the tools necessary for planning good urban space, ecology, urban greenery and resilience to climate threats, spaces open to intergenerational and inter-environmental meetings, new technologies and specific places in Krakow - those that are just being created (such as the New Town) or shaping themselves anew (such as Wesoła).

The event will be held in a hybrid formula - stationary in the Malopolska Garden of Art and online. Admission to the event is free, but advance registration is required: www.kongres.oees.pl/prolog.
