Wolf D. Prix, a representative of deconstructivism in architecture and founder of the Vienna-based Coop Himmelb(l)au studio, will be the guest of the last lecture in the Masters of Architecture series before the summer vacation. The live broadcast will take place on June 25 at 18:00 on the Masters of Architecture channel on YouTube.
In 1968, Wolf D. Prix founded the Coop Himmelblau studio in Vienna. The office's name translates as "Blue Sky Co-op." In the 1980s, the letter "l" in was written in parentheses - Coop Himmelb(l)au, thus changing the meaning of the studio's name to "Sky Building."
For 40 years, the Coop Himmelb(l)au studio has been creating buildings in the spirit of deconstructivism, which, while arousing extreme emotions, have won prestigious awards. Among the office's best-known projects are: Musée des Confluences in Lyon, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shenzen, or PANEUM in Asten, Upper Austria.
