The subject of the project study is a model space presenting the conceptual idea of the Center for People Suffering from Violence. The project envisages dividing the space into interiors intended for teaching and therapeutic purposes, social and office spaces and a residential zone.

The conceptual design of the Center for People Affected by Violence includes innovative solutions that combine elements from the world of architecture and psychology. The comprehensive arrangement includes the design of the body, the interior of the building, as well as the surroundings. Every aspect of the place has been carefully considered and designed on the basis of formal and functional analysis. Both the exterior and interior are designed to provide safety, comfort and support for those affected by violence. After analysis in the form of proprietary interviews and surveys, an appropriate division of zones was designed. Special attention was paid to communal spaces, as according to the majority of respondents, they are essential in the process of healing, socialization and establishing new relationships. All the mechanisms mentioned can lead to faster social activation. The exterior of the center is an area full of greenery, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

The visual concept was developed on the basis of surveys that took into account the opinions and needs of potential users. Functional analysis contributed to understanding the various aspects of working with people experiencing violence and designing a place that will meet specific needs on multiple levels. The goal is to create a place that provides services of social stature, such as the possibility of temporary residence at the center. Other services provided by this type of facility include activities related to mental health, development, education and activation. The project also aims to create spaces that allow residents to feel at home.

An analysis of the centers located in Poland shows that they are not always properly adapted to the needs of those seeking help and require many changes in the organization of the space. Some cannot be undertaken for financial reasons, due to location and limited space.

The proposed organization of the space with a social-therapeutic purpose shows how the facility can be adapted and the surroundings arranged to create a fully functional environment. Among other things, the concept ensures that a safe and welcoming atmosphere is created, social interaction is facilitated, the rooms are tailored to meet needs, senses and creativity are stimulated, and the organization and flow of therapeutic work is facilitated.
