Home jungle - the whole truth about plants

Interiors full of plants, in addition to the benefits of clean, oxygen-rich air, are very visually appealing. Depending on the species of flora, accessories and placement, green decorations will perfectly complement any interior: both traditional and contemporary style. There are several architectural and design rules for floral compositions, which are worth assimilating before choosing your favorite plant.

  • avoid flowers that irritate you or are unpleasant to look at - instead of relaxing, they can overwhelm the household;
  • choose a fragrance you like - it's important that it's not too intense, as it can adversely affect your mood in the long term;
  • accessories and decorative elements should not overshadow the natural beauty of the plant - starting with the pot, and ending with the furniture and design of the room.

Leading the way are air-purifying plants such as sansevieria (shown in the photo) and ferns. If you own domestic pets, especially cats, it is worth paying attention to the toxicity of the plant before buying.

ideas for plants at home: get inspired!

Numerous ideas for plants at home are the result of the endless creativity of designers and implementers in the field of integrating nature into the interior of the property. Here are suggestions on how to decorate your home with plants!

unusual specimens of nature

Arranging a green space should start with an interesting composition of pots with original flowers. Recently popular plants for their unique aesthetic qualities are horsetail and monstera. The first specimen has dark green leaves that contrast beautifully with the white of its flower and modern interior design, while the monstera has become extremely fashionable thanks to its unusual "hole" leaves - it looks effective both on its own and as a floral pattern for wallpaper and fabrics. A bold step will be the purchase of an impressive about two-meter colocosia with the informal term "elephant's ear". This plant is perfect for decorating large spaces, such as lofts, apartments with high ceilings, balconies, offices and bars, and will effectively attract the attention of guests. Coccolosia is worth combining with yellow accents and a black and white background, which interacts interestingly with its elements to create a unique design.

As the owner of FlowerSzop hints, on-trend are also reindeer weevil, which is a stabilized elegant lichen that does not need to be watered, and entanglements - plants without a root system, which are sprayed or dipped in water once a week. These are great suggestions for those who have trouble taking care of their home nature specimens on a regular basis!

Compositions

Smaller plants and potted flowers, on the other hand, are suitable for creating attractive montages and wall decorations. Air plants are probably one of the most mysterious and exotic houseplants. Many contemporary designers use these plants in their work, due to their unusual appearance and the vast possibilities for design. They don't need soil to grow, so they can be placed upside down, under the ceiling, or put into multi-shaped containers and glass spheres. This is what international design company Bocci has used to produce stunning lamps. See for yourself!

It is also popular to compose mini home greenhouses, and instead of pictures on the walls - hang shelves with plants. Just stock up on an assortment from furniture stores (for example, Ikea has many useful gadgets), and further give vent to your creativity! You will create a rustic atmosphere with the composition of simple plants with wooden decorative elements in a folk style. Chests, shabby chests, a ladder in the middle of the room? Combining the classics of wooden shelves and furniture with the greenery of nature is a proven and always delightful choice. For modern interiors, white, light wood with an austere finish and designer glass accessories will prove to be a good choice - we especially recommend trying plants under a lampshade and in elegant jars.
