Radom will get a new dominant feature in the landscape. The building, designed by Kurylowicz & Associates, is expected to refer to the tradition of Radom's modernism, while at the same time putting a premium on dynamism and modernity.

introducing a dominant feature
The building was designed in the form of a fourteen-story tower, set to dominate the surrounding space. During the design process, the architects adopted the idea of visually reducing the scale of the building by making the mass as dynamic as possible. The facade was largely dominated by glazing, which allowed to simplify and organize the composition of the building. At the height of the lowest floors, a sequence of loggias and oriels arranged in alternating patterns has been provided. Such an action is intended to create a diverse, expressive tectonics of the facade.

"We assumed that the character of the architecture should not epitomize richness and diversity of form. We believe that a sense of high standard should come from architectural elegance, rigor and aesthetically and technically perfect detail," - says Dr. Piotr Żabicki, lead architect with Kuryłowicz & Associates.

On the side of Jacka Malczewskiego Street, a two-story frontage was decided on, referring to the character of the surrounding buildings. A three-story underground garage is located under the building and courtyards. One hundred and forty-five apartments, ranging from one to seven rooms, were designed in the residential part. On the lowest floors it was decided to create space for services such as offices and cafes. The architects also designed a small green area in the form of small gardens and outdoor terraces.

courtyard idea
One of the goals of the site development was to take into account the surroundings. The architects decided on courtyards that can be accessed from three sides of the building. A walkway passing through the building was also located inside, allowing for a full-fledged service function located on the first floor, combined with mezzanines. Ultimately, the courtyard is also intended to have an integrative function - to be a place open for outdoor exhibitions and art events.

referring to Malczewskiego
The building will be built on Malczewskiego Street. The architects tried to establish a dialogue with the artist's paintings. The painting "Jacek at the Pond" directly influenced the shape of the courtyard floor.
"To give the courtyard a unique character we designed the floor in the form of colorful ceramic mosaics, which are a contemporary interpretation of the "pixelated" painting by Jacek Malczewski entitled "Jacek nad stawem". "Jacek nad stawem," explains architect Marcin Szubski, project manager with Kurylowicz & Associates.
