Work submitted to the Halina Skibniewskaya student competition - HEALTHY HOUSE
The project was born from the consideration of what conditions should be created for an average family of 2+2, taking into account the needs and flexibility of the modern place of residence. In addition, nowadays architecture and investments are expected to provide solutions: economical, ergonomic, ecological and energy-efficient. After analyzing these assumptions, I began to work on a house design that would meet these conditions

2+2+1 idea
assumption of the number of users
The project adopted the model of a 4-person family as the model for which the house is designed. Modularity of the object, first floor layout of the building, clear division into functional zones allows easy functional modification. Meanwhile, the modular layout of the floor plan ensures the flexibility of the building and allows for expansion. The concept of the "Healthy House" assumes an area and number of rooms suitable for a family based on the assumption of two parents and a child, with the possibility of expanding this family by one more child or providing space for a senior citizen - a grandmother or grandfather who requires care and who, at a certain stage of life, may move into this house. This house, thanks to its single-story layout, provides easy mobility for all its residents regardless of their age. If the family maintains the 2+2 rule, the extra room can be used, either as a studio, gym or guest room. The division and conception of the space provides individual rooms for everyone while the layout of the common areas is well thought out.

4E idea
ecological, economic, energy-saving and ergonomic solutions
In the project, an important aspect was to find solutions that allow for a relatively cheap and profitable investment by developing optimal solutions, using good but low-cost materials and RES systems. One of them is a heat pump, which, combined with photovoltaic panels placed on the sunniest part of the house, is to create a zero-energy system. The volume of the house, is designed to collect as much heat as possible from the sun's rays. The location of the orangery on the southwestern part of the building, additionally provides a point where heat is most accumulated and spread throughout the building. The white facade and roof are a good solution to prevent the house from overheating.

The project includes the installation of a rainwater tank, which allows to reduce the use of mains water, while using rainwater, which has an impact primarily on environmental protection. The space is designed in such a way that the central zone of the house encourages householders to stay together. This is the "heart of the house," this solution emphasizes the importance of being with other people. The private zone - individual rooms, bedrooms with bathrooms, allows to meet the individual needs of residents related to territoriality and privacy. The assumptions of the project are shown in the table below.
ECOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS
- environmental protection through water management - a reservoir buried in the ground for at least two cubic meters of rainwater,
- renewable energy sources - photovoltaic cells and a heat pump,
- location of the house on the plot so as to optimize the use of the sun's action,
- white roof and facades - allow to reduce the temperature of the building at high temperatures in summer,
- winter garden - a solution in the form of a glazed atrium,
- green garden,
- certified building materials that can be recycled.

- optimization of investment activities at all stages of a building's life, from planning, programming, design, implementation, use, modification and retrofitting to consumption, demolition and recycling,

ERGONOMIC SOLUTIONS
- Determination of users' needs at the stage of investment planning,
- taking into account appropriate rooms their functional relationships and areas at the programming stage,
- design taking into account ergonomic principles for all users of all ages,
- flexibility in the use of space - changeability, modification and modernization,
- the creation of the right microclimate in the building thanks to the correct location in relation to the sides of the world and the introduction of a winter garden.

ENERGY-SAVING SOLUTIONS
