A house on one level in Zory is an interesting project by RS+ Robert Skitek studio. The architects had to adapt the form to the plot and the investor's requirements. The result is a unique house combined with terraces.
The house was built in a partially invested neighborhood on a plot with a slight western slope. A priority for the investors was that all the rooms of the house should be on one level, without any steps. This was problematic due to the slope of the plot and the large square footage. The rooms were additionally supposed to open scenically to the west.
Designed by RS+ studios, it was situated parallel to the road and occupies almost the entire width of the plot. The western part of the site was adapted for a spacious garden.

The longer elevations were covered by additional reinforced concrete frames of raw character. Terrace and garden areas were separated between them. The difference in levels has influenced the lowering of the western garden zone in the contour of the frame, creating a kind of cascade with the terrace. Outside the frame, only a suspended section of the block containing the sleeping zone emerges on the western side. The living room with dining room was located in the central part of the house adjacent to the patio, which also opens to the kitchen. A children's zone and a technical and economic area have been placed in the southern wing.
The building was maintained in white and blacktones. It was finished with white and dark fiber-cement panels. The side spaces have been filled with stainless steel mesh, which is eventually to be overgrown with vines in the future. The front fence was designed in a similar way, referring to the block through a white frame with a contrasting dark infill.

Architect Robert Skitek talks about the process of creation and the most important ones.
Wiktor Bochenek: Thehouse on one level in Zory required an interesting adjustment to the plot and its shape from what did it result and what was it based on?
Robert Skitek: The land was sloping down from the road, and the investor wished that there were no steps in the house. And this is what eventually happened, but because of this, it is necessary to descend to the garden by stairs. The terrace is at the level of the house, and we also introduced an intermediate level of greenery enclosed by a western frame.

Wiktor Bochenek: What was most important when designing the house? What did you need to pay particular attention to.
Robert Skitek: As always, the most important thing is to listen to the investors' requirements and work well with them.

Wiktor Bochenek: In the realization, the raw reinforced concrete frames marking the rhythm of the garden and terrace area are visible. How important was the exterior environment for the project?
Robert Skitek: They were also supposed to delineate the greenery in an orderly manner, outside of them we saw a rather naturalistic garden, and this is the only thing that was not executed according to our idea. The rest, including the fence, was executed perfectly.
Wiktor Bochenek: Thank you for the interview.
