This year marked the 4th edition of the festival organized by the "Open Flats" Association, established in late 2016. Its idea is to look into the buildings you pass every day, into the individual apartments inside them, which often hide original and intriguing interiors. You leave each one with a new dose of inspiration and a desire to change your home (for the better!). Check out our coverage of this year's FOM!
In addition to apartments and houses, participants of the Open Housing Festival can take a peek into artists' studios. The owners of these interiors can talk about every object that contributes to the space. In addition to the aesthetic and architectural experience, the goal of the Festival is to create bonds between the city's residents through the discovery of their private stories. In addition, during FOM there are accompanying events conducted by specialists in interior design, city architecture or urban planning.

Open Housing Festival 2020
The Open Flats Festival in Krakow took place over two weekends in July: 18-19and 25-26. Due to this year's special circumstances, some of the events took place online. In addition to visiting apartments in Kazimierz, Bronowice, Zabłocie, Dabie or the Old Town and Prądnik, many meetings and workshops were held. Participants looked at the Garden at the Emeryk Hutten-CzapskiMuseum, the Światowid Cinema in Nowa Huta, took a walk over the rooftops at the Kossak Hotel, and were able to take part in "Backyard Stories" walks. The Design Forum and MOCAK hosted workshops conducted with the youngest FOMparticipants in mind, during which they could design a "room of their own dreams" and create their own exhibition in spatial form.
