ecological solutions and greenhouses
Ecological solutions have been used in the project. Solar energy is harvested through collectors and rainwater is stored and reused. Interactive greenhouses allow residents to grow plants. One of them was designed for children. The greenhouses were purposely placed on the central axis of the establishment, due to the continuous access of the sun and for visual value. Volta and Kungla Streets will be extended, connecting the Kalamaja and Peluglinin neighborhoods. The author has proposed allowing the tracks underground in this section, and a park on the reclaimed land above. This solution allows the creation of an additional residential development zone on the east side. In the transportation layer, the different parts are connectedby bicycle and pedestrian paths.

omnipresent greenery
The development was shaped to create intimate urban interiors, with recreational zones provided not only for the youngest, but also for seniors and reading space. The boundaries of the functional strips correspond to the width of the duplicated modules of the development. A gradation of greenery was introduced, starting from the narrowest part of the area. The playground zone for the youngest children was placed on the south side, providing constant access to the sun. Outside, tall greenery was additionally designed to shade the outdoor reading areas. A space was designed where residents can use their own creativity and contribute to the creation of the estate's recreational zone. To introduce color and break up the greenery, strips of field flowers were designed to blend in with the local landscape.

social estate
As a result of combining residential, office, integration and educational zones, Miriam Mik has created a cohesive living space. The introduction of ecological solutions for obtaining natural energy and using it in the estate reduces harmful activities affecting the environment. The introduced form of the buildings fits harmoniously into the surrounding development, upholding the idea of traditional buildings. The estate adds not only environmental and financial value, but also social value, creating a framework for strengthening families and building a sense of community in which residents become part of a common ecosystem.
The diploma participated in the "New Habitats, New Beauties" international competition organized as part of the 2019 Tallinn Architecture Biennale.
