Irena Bajerska, a landscape architect, university lecturer and member of the Association of Polish Architects, passed away on August 14, 2021. She was the author of many designs for gardens, recreational areas and public spaces, including the famous plant roof of the University of Warsaw Library.
Prominent landscape architect Irena Bajerska has passed away at the age of 78. She left behind many of her projects in public spaces in Poland, including the famous green roof of the University of Warsaw Library.
Irena Bajerska was a graduate of landscape architecture at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. After graduation, she worked for many years at the Design and Research Office for General Construction in Miastoprojekt Warsaw. From 1990 to 2013, she worked at the private Park Landscape Architecture Studio in Warsaw. For 34 years, from 1980 to 2014, she was a lecturer at the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture.
In her profession, she specialized in the design and implementation of gardens and green public spaces. She received numerous awards for her professional achievements.
She was a member of the Association of Polish Architects, the College of Competition Judges of SARP, as well as the Landscape Architecture Section of the Warsaw Branch of the Association of Polish Architects (SARP).
