During the reconstruction, the investors were most concerned not to destroy the beauty of the wooded plot. The interior designed by Katarzyna Slawinska of Tilla Architects seeks to create a dialogue between architecture and interior.
The 220-square-meter house is located in Magdalenka, a suburb of Warsaw, and has undergone extensive changes in layout. The building has three floors. On level -1, the architect designed a garage, a dressing room and a gym. On the first floor there was a living room with a separate TV zone, a kitchen, a bathroom and a study. On the +1 level, a bedroom connected to a bath room, a dressing room and a teenager's room were placed. Changes in space consisted in enlarging the living area by the area of the dressing room on the first floor, which was moved to the first floor, eliminating one of the bathrooms.
color scheme
Interior architect Katarzyna Slawinska, before starting the design work, held a number of discussions with investors, for whom "lightness" became a key word . The clients wanted to use contrasts that did not affect the brightness of the space. The dominant colors became bright shades of white, juxtaposed with black trim elements. The contrast is complemented by natural oak wood and terrazzo.

first floor
The ceiling on the first floor is on different levels. Glazing allows one to merge with the forest landscape. The slant of the roof dynamizes the interior. The dining room is located adjacent to the kitchen. The veneer-finished table was designed specifically for this interior by Tilla Architects. The massive table is designed to contrast with the light steel chairs.
Thekitchen was built in a dark color scheme, although thekitchen itself did not become a dark room. This is due to the use of horizontal windows placed above the marble countertop. A rounded kitchen island with a marble countertop was placed in the center of the kitchen, which also serves as a kitchen bar. The wall is complemented by tiles on the wall next to the kitchen, repeating the shade of the conifers located outside the window.
In the bathroom, rounded forms appear above all. Mirrors reaching the ceiling form a background for the black sink and toilet bowl. The whole was complemented by terrazzo tiles juxtaposed with anthracite large-format tiles in the shower. Between the arches of the mirrors there was space for shelves for cosmetics.

second floor
On the first floor a second bathroom, called the bath salon, was placed. It tries to contrast gently with the house's decor without destroying the coherence. The bathtub has been moved as far as possible to the window. The room is kept in a white color scheme. It was decorated with rectangular tiles around a large mirror in the background of the sink.
On the first floor there is also a bedroom - in which a large window and a mirror were placed, optically enlarging the interior. Next to the bed were placed small stools, curtains upholstered boucle armchair and a carpet.

I like this project very much. Thanks to the open-minded investors with imagination and a sense of beauty, who left us a free hand. I also like this house because we were able to create a modern, minimalist interior, which acquired a homely warmth through the use of oval forms, varied textures and sophisticated details," sums up the project in Magdalenka by architect Katarzyna Slawinska of Tilla Architects.

climate
The goal of the project was to create a "light" space, where the dominant white will be broken by contrasting dark furniture. The space of the house tries to focus primarily on the relationship with the outside world - the surrounding coniferous forest. Eclectic combinations of furniture, colors and solid forms may seem too diverse at first glance, but ultimately the interior creates a pleasant, family atmosphere.
