Sometimes all it takes is one memory, one moment, a place that sinks into our memory enough to influence our imagination and become an inspiration. Such a place for the owners of an apartment in Warsaw's Wilanów district was the atmospheric Portuguese town of Monsanto, where the oldest houses are built into massive stones.
How to capture this memory in a modern apartment on Sytej Street? The investors entrusted this task to the Nice Young People - the design group of Lech Moczulski and Przemyslaw Nowak, who introduced an unusual block into the interior.... golden stone.

The apartment in its original functional layout had only a living room with an annex and two rooms, which was insufficient for investors with children. In order for the owners not to have to sleep in the living room, we changed its layout, putting a cubby in the middle to form a bedroom, which is enclosed by the aforementioned golden stone. The room is passable, and there is a bathroom at the end, the architects say.

And so, in the somewhat austere living space - an open kitchen with a living room - the eye is attracted by a sizable sculpted cubicle, standing out against the rough concrete ceiling and smooth gray floor. With the golden color of the cubicle harmonize warming interior wooden furnishings - a large table, kitchen furniture, bookcase, while the raw nature of the space is emphasized in turn by minimalist lamps, large glazing and black details.

Syta is not a typical family apartment. Solutions such as floor-to-ceiling doors, unplastered walls and ceilings, gave the project a raw atmosphere. Everything is complemented by a poured concrete floor and raw structural elements such as reinforced concrete columns. Wherever possible, we left the developer's condition, not least to limit the overproduction of unnecessary furnishings, the designers add.
Thegolden stone - separate parents' bedroom in the center of the apartment - conceals a cozy, wood-filled small space with a small bathroom. Children's rooms partly continue the austere character of the interior, but are complemented by colorful accents and furnishings adapted to the needs of the youngest.

The interior of the apartment, although maintained in a raw, somewhat industrial atmosphere, is extremely consistent, and its arrangement is consistent. Being at its heart, the cubicle not only evokes memories of travel for the household members, but also creates a cozy asylum.
