Brightness reigns in this interior - it seems to be devoid of dark corners. This impression is enhanced by the choice of colors - white, blue, soft beige and a few pink accessories. However, the architect was tempted to play with this brightness - in the bedrooms it contrasts with red accessories - not only the vase and rug, but also the floral wallpaper. It's something to look at!
For the most part of the apartment, which measures 84 square meters, the brightness of the walls and accessories contrast with the pine floor and some wooden antique furniture. Anna Bialobrzewska of {tag:pracownie} opted for eclecticism. Modern design - Malwina Konopacka's OKO vase or minimalist coffee tables are mixed with antiques and Polish post-war design. Figurines from ćmiel porcelain complement the kitchen or bathroom interiors, as do lush plants.
The design was thus meant to reflect the character of French interiors and fit in with the atmosphere of the tenement house

Basia Hyjek: What was the main inspiration for the project?
Anna Białobrzewska: The owner is a young girl who lives in Paris. So the design had to reflect the character of French interiors and fit into the atmosphere of the tenement house.
Basia: Where did the idea for such a selection of colors and materials come from?
Anna: The juxtaposition of colors - warm beiges and cold blue, go well with the old pine board, which was stained in a shade of warm brown. The different types of wallpapers in each room, as well as the non-obvious combination with wallpaper, give the interior a boudoir feel.
Fortunately, the owner had no problem with an unconventional approach

Basia: Where did the idea for the division of space come from?
Anna: Before the renovation, the apartment was divided into many smaller rooms. We wanted to recreate the original layout and bring more light into the interior. Fortunately, the owner had no problem with an out-of-the-box approach. She didn't need a dining room with a folding table and a large living room. She much preferred to allocate two rooms for comfortable bedrooms. By design, one of them was to be a guest room.
Basia: What was the biggest challenge in creating this place, and what gave you the most satisfaction?
Anna: After the renovation, the apartment did not at all resemble the one the owner bought. Much of it was carpeting and suspended drywall ceilings. The biggest challenge was to recreate the character of the old building. We attached great importance to the restoration of the old doors and windows and the floor. We did not care about the pristine appearance of these materials - on the contrary, we wanted the passage of time to be visible on them.
