Fresh and vivid colors - yellow and green - have become the theme for the interior of an urban planning studio in Poznan. The authors of the arrangement of the colorful office space are architects from Atelier Starzak Strebicki.
amphilade in the office
The atelier is located in a premises in one of the tenements in the city center. The arrangement of the functional program of the interior was influenced by the amphilade layout of the rooms, i.e. one in which the corridor is omitted, and the doors of individual rooms are placed in one axis. As the authors of the project explain, in the atelier premises the user is guided through successive parts of the office, starting from the most public sphere to the least accessible, private spaces in the depths of the premises. Importantly, thanks to the solutions proposed by the team of Jolanta Starzak and Dawid Strębicki, the space can be partially closed or opened, depending on the needs.

Thus, on the street side there is an open, accessible part - the conference room, where meetings are held. It is separated from the rest of the office by a ceiling-length yellow bookcase, into which sliding (also yellow) doors are integrated. Such a solution, as the architects emphasize, not only visually separates this space from the main part of the office, but also provides an additional acoustic layer.

Further down the premises, there is the main white-maintained office area, a social area with a kitchenette, a toilet and, at the very end, a green-filled area placed on a slight elevation for administration and documentation storage.

minimum resources, maximum functionality
The interference in the existing interior was not large - due to the limited budget, the architects used existing elements, including the floor and the wood-finished ceiling, focusing on the functional arrangement of the space. A clear division of the interior was achieved by a colorful development tailored to the needs of the urban atelier team.

Furniture designed in a compact layout guarantees freedom and discretion in the use of space. Both permanent buildings and woodwork elements were made of stained or melamine plywood in intense colors and are the main defining element of the space, explain architects from Atelier Starzak Strebicki in Poznan.
Tailored, functional furniture and entire equipment modules made of plywood have recently become a distinguishing element of interiors by Atelier Starzak Strebicki - the architects experiment with forms and colors, proving that often a small interference is enough to give the space a completely new, consistent look and meet the expectations of users.
