Aleksander Miszalski is another signatory of the Pact for Krakow Spaces. He is the second declared candidate for mayor of Krakow to sign the declaration.
On January 31 this year. Aleksander Miszalski, a candidate for mayor of Krakow on behalf of the Civic Coalition, signed the Pact for the Space of Krakow. During the conference accompanying the event, he pointed out many problems related to the space of Grzegórzki and the entire city - the ill-considered reconstruction of the railroad overpass, the lack of an idea for the surroundings of the market hall, and the need to organize architectural competitions. He also announced the inclusion of public space issues in his election program. He is the second candidate for mayor of Krakow, after Stanislaw Mazur, to sign this declaration.
What is the Pact for Space?
The Pact for Krakow's Space is an initiative uniting various circles across divisions, which was established at the end of 2023. The signing ceremony of the declaration initiated by A&B editor-in-chief MałgorzataTomczak took place last November during thePrologue of the Open Eyes Economy Summit - the International Congress on Value Economics.
The pact is made up of ten points that, according to the creators, require special treatment in the context of the game for the city. What was included in the document? The pact includes calls for rebuilding the stature of the institution of the City Architect, wider consultation with experts (not only from the fields of urban planning and architecture, but also, for example, sociology), introducing urban-architectural standards or adapting the city to climate change. The proposals were developed by a group of specialists in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, sociology and culture.
