TheWood Promotion Center is a forest administration facility in the Lukow municipality. This building, made entirely of wood, also has educational functions. Monika Koncewicz, Agata Grzyb and Magdalena Boguszewska-Stefaniak of Lublin-based MMA Pracownia Architektury are responsible for its design.
The building, which was constructed in the Lukow Forest District, refers to traditional wooden architecture. Designed on a polygonal projection, the object with an area of three hundred square meters was shaped as a result of the intersection of two blocks, with different heights. As a result, three parts were created: the central one - higher, covered with a gable roof with a slope of forty degrees, oriented in the north-south direction, and two side ones - lower, covered with a gable roof with a slope of thirty-five degrees, oriented in the east-west direction.

green investment
The building was erected using the STEICO construction and insulation system and is equipped with a ground heat exchanger, photovoltaics and recuperation. The Wood Promotion Center is an excellent example of a "green" investment implemented by a budgetary unit. It promotes energy-efficient wood construction and promotes renewable energy sources.

wood and more wood
Both solid wood and glulam elements were used for construction. Wood fiber boards and mats were used as thermal insulation material. In addition, a ventilated facade covered with aspen shingles was designed for the roof as well as the facade.
According to architects from MMA Procownia Architektury:
The building was conceived and consistently proceeded as a temple of wood. The primary goal during design and erection was to strive for one hundred percent wood content in the building.
Interestingly, the building was erected using a closed-loop prefabrication system. Local companies were involved in the construction process, using renewable wood materials.

In addition to its administrative functions, the Wood Promotion Center also acts as an educational institution. At the site you can get information about the forest, the Jata Reserve, as well as gain knowledge about energy-efficient wood construction.
