A book by Canadian researcher, architectural historian and writer Despina Stratigakos will be published in late November. The extended essay, titled "Where Are the Female Architects?" discusses the reasons for the absence of women in architecture.
Stratigakos wonders how is it possible that more than half of those starting architecture studies each year are women, and twenty years later only a handful of them are running their own studios? You can read about whether architecture will forever remain a "men's club" in a publication by the Architecture Center.
