Opole Technical University is one of the nineteen state technical universities in Poland. It was established in 1996 as a result of the transformation of the Higher School of Engineering, which had been operating since the 1960s, into a Polytechnic. In 2016 it celebrated its 50th anniversary. It educates students in twenty-six faculties, in full-time and part-time studies.
