If you are also curious about the answer to this question, sit down in front of your computers this Thursday at 21:00 - let the screening begin! Sir Norman Foster needs no introduction to anyone. After all, he is the man behind the already iconic designs of the London City Hall building or the 30 St Mary Axe skyscraper.
The eighth screening in the PROJECTOR at Home series is a meeting with English architect Sir Norman Foster. "How much does this building weigh, Mr. Foster?" is not an ordinary film about architecture. It is a story about the creator, a kind of exhibition and audiovisual album of his works in one. The tandem of Spanish filmmakers, Norberto López Amado and Carlos Carcas, visited halfway around the world to look at the architect's most famous works, such as the rebuilt Reichstag Building, Beijing Airport and the world's tallest bridge, the French Millau Viaduct. Each building erected according to the British architect's design - whether a skyscraper or a cultural center - is always part of the identity of the city in which it is built. No one can combine functionality, elegance and innovative design like Foster.
The documentary also allows us to learn more about the man, his private life, his inspirations, his influence on modern design, his working philosophy - all of this emerges from interviews, not only with the creator himself, but also with his colorful circle of friends and colleagues. Among them appear such figures as the leader of the group U2, Bono, the art curator Cai Guo-Qiang or outstanding artists: Anish Kapoor, Richard Serra, Richard Long, Anthony Caro.
