Roof for energy savings

28 of December '24

As the gable end of a building, the roof is most responsible for insulation. It is the one that traps heat rising upwards in winter and protects it from the sun's outflow in summer. Therefore, strengthening the insulating properties of the roof can significantly affect the energy efficiency of the entire building.

A study conducted by the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et D "essais for Dorken shows that the use of a roof membrane reduces energy consumption by almost 15 percent, whileusing the membrane's adhesive strips is a savings of more than 20 percent compared to the membrane's open, ungluedoverlaps. This is as much as 3 times more than when using only a vapor barrier.

As a leader in roof solutions, Dorken provides quality membranes, with the longest 30-year warranty on the market, that support the insulating properties of the roof. The brand offers a product that provides particularly high airtightness - DELTA MAXX Plus. This membrane has built-in double adhesive strips so that the overlaps can be glued together even more precisely. Such a strong bond makes the membranes an even better insulator. The double adhesive strips also make installation faster, and up to 30 percent less material is used because the membrane sheet can be easily turned.

Another standout product in the Dorken portfolio is DELTA FOXX Plus, a membrane that can withstand even extreme weather conditions. It can withstand temperatures as high as +150°C and is specially UV-stabilized. It also has a lotus effect that makes rainwater drain faster. Both of these membranes have ETA quality certification and are non-flammable.

Roof for green

One of the increasingly important and thriving trends is green roofs. They bring more nature into cities, eliminating heat islands that are created by the heating of roads, sidewalks and squares without plants. Green roofs also assist in water retention, collecting water when it rains and gradually releasing it on warm days. At the same time, they provide a space for residents to relax. Due to these numerous benefits, more and more buildings with green roofs are being built. Even cities are eager to support this growing trend through, among other things, subsidies or tax exemptions.
