The project by young architects, graduates of the Poznan University of Technology and TU Delft, received an honorable mention in the competition to develop an architectural concept for an indoor swimming pool in Piaseczno. The object appreciated by the jury is a sports complex bathed in greenery.
The municipal swimming pool created by Klaudia Golaszewska, Marek Grodzicki, Kinga Grzybowska, Michal Hondo, Jakub Wójtowicz and Filip Zieliński in cooperation with architect Grzegorz Tracz, is a facility surrounded by lush greenery, allowing relaxation, tranquility and contact with nature.

As the authors say about the project:
When creating the concept of the municipal swimming pool, our primary goal was to integrate two worlds - the closed and clean environment of the pool and the picturesque green areas surrounding the facility. In an effort to preserve all the economic and functional advantages of a simple body, we attempted to design an alternative version of the pool open to nature.
The 2,400-square-meter facility was designed to separate the sports and recreational space, creating a friendly and functional space for users between them. The form of the simple pool hall was divided into smaller cubic objects, which size and scale were adjusted to the function.

4 green atria
Between the individual volumes, the authors inserted atria with specific functions, introducing greenery into the building. The entrance atrium is a green square inviting users into the open and bright space of the lobby, while another atrium illuminates the common sauna space located in the underground section. By recessing one floor down, the architects created an intimate green relaxation zone. The pool slides were obscured by an atrium and integrated into the building's simple facade. Meanwhile, the garden atrium located in the central part of the pool provides a transition between the indoor and outdoor pools and separates the recreational pool from the sports pool. The greenery located in this space, is perfectly visible from anywhere in the pool.

sports campus
The architects also designed a sports campus located in the northwestern part of the plot near the main access road to Piaseczno. The first of the campus' facilities is a swimming pool along with outdoor pools. Nearby is a beach with a relaxation and beach volleyball zone. At the central point of the campus, the authors placed a square with bleachers and a skatepark. Its paved space allows comfortable movement on skateboards and bicycles. The sports park closes the Sports Center with surrounding tennis courts, basketball and soccer fields. The entire complex creates a functional urban layout, and the proximity of green spaces further contributes to health and comfort.

Green areas of Piaseczno
The study area is a vast undeveloped space stretching along the Jeziorka River. An analysis of the neighboring areas indicated a broader context of connection with the center of Piaseczno and the city park.
In our concept, these two elements were connected by an activity path running through our study area along the Pearl River watercourse. The path was designed to pass near important recreational elements. It includes meeting places for different age groups and elements of small architecture to encourage physical activity.

Further plans of the architects include revitalizing the Perełka riverbed and expanding it with an additional water reservoir, in the vicinity of which stocked retention ponds will be placed. The designed path will run through the wetlands and end at a canoe landing with a beach. The eastern part of the site will be used for an Environmental Education Center. The accent will be a viewing tower, located in the central place of the entire site.
