Piotr Fokczynski became the new president appointed for the VI term of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland. Until now, the position of president was held by Małgorzata Pilinkiewicz.
The Fifth Reporting and Elective National Congress of the Polish Chamber of Archite cts, during which the election for the position of the new president of the IARP was held on June 28, 2022. Piotr Fokczynski and incumbent IARP president Malgorzata Pilinkiewicz stood for election. By a ratio of 39 votes to 35, Piotr Fokczynski won the election.
Piotr Fokczynski is directly related to Wroclaw. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Wrocław University of Technology, graduating in 1985. From 2003 to 2021, he served as Architect of the City of Wroclaw while also serving as Director of the Department of Architecture and Construction of the City Hall in Wroclaw. The new IARP president was also the organizer of the "Beautiful Wroclaw" competition and one of the initiators of the creation of the model housing estate Nowe Żerniki.
