Skyscrapers over a hundred meters high will cast a shadow on the beach in Miedzyzdroje

05 of February '21

Twin, 112-meter-high skyscrapers will stand on the very shore of the Baltic Sea in the small town of Międzyzdroje. The project, commissioned by the Szczecin-based developer Siemaszko, was prepared jointly by Arkadiusz Czarkowski and Slawomir Wunsch. The buildings will be built in accordance with the local zoning plan.

There is already an approval

The 345 apartments will be located on 33 floors of two high-rise buildings. The Szczecin developer has already obtained a legally binding building permit for such an investment. Work on the facility is expected to begin within a year. In addition to the apartments, the buildings will have space for restaurants, cafes, a swimming pool complex, spa, conference and fitness rooms. The facility is expected to operate year-round. All of this will be enclosed in two cuboid blocks located along the shoreline, with 112 meters in height and 30 thousand square meters of space.

The venture is pioneering and very exciting. There is no fear that the investment will disappear among other similar ones, as nothing can compare with it in this part of the coast. We have made sure that every apartment is exclusive and every guest and resident has a view of the sea. This was the challenge our architects faced. The result of their work can already be admired in the visualization.

The only available visualization of the complex heralds the emergence of generic architecture, associated with contemporary and mass-built real estate development, in a valuable natural area. The entire area is covered by a landscaped park. Views of the area, located right next to the Wolin National Park, will be enjoyed from a café on the thirtieth floor and a panoramic elevator.

All according to plan

This is not the first approach to the construction of high-rise buildings in this location. In the vicinity of the Amber Baltic Hotel, the company was planning two blocks 55 meters high. The 2017 project was to be completed by the end of 2022. However, the investment described by the developer as "the heart of the resort" did not come to fruition. In 2018, the Governor made a final decision to deny approval of the project, motivating it by its incompatibility with the development plan.

The blocks of flats planned today, twice as tall, will stand in the area covered by the zoning plan. Their location is also in line with the zoning study. The area of the landscape park will therefore be significantly deformed, and all this will be done in accordance with the law passed by the local authorities. The Promenade of Stars 5, as this is the name the project will bear, is thus another example of the privatization of the common good, which is the natural values of the waterfront. Destructive to the landscape, the project is yet another, after, among others, the giant Golębiewski Hotel in Pobierowo, which exploits the unique qualities of seaside towns.
