Karolina Slawecka and Pawel Krzeminski - briefly on the subject

"10 Questions to..." is a series of short interviews with architects and female architects, to whom we address the same pool of questions. For today's mini-interview, we invited Karolina Slawecka and Pawel Krzeminski from the Swiss Architecture Club studio.

Karolina Slawecka was born in 1980 in Warsaw. She studied in Paris at ENSA Paris-LaVillette and at the Warsaw University of Technology. She gained professional experience working in the office of Herzog & de Meuron for five years, including the design of the expansion of the Tate Modern building in London. In 2011, she started working at Atelier Peter Zumthor, where she became a partner two years later. Since 2017, she has co-founded the Architecture Club studio.

Los Angeles, because it is surprising.

5. architect you would like to design something with and why...?

Le Corbusier, because I've been enthralled by his every building I've been in.

Drawing.

7. mockup or 3D model?

Mock-up.

8. modernism or postmodernism?

Modernism.

9. After-hours work or sports?

Interchangeable.

Architecture.


Pawel Krzeminski was born in 1981 in Warsaw. He studied at the polytechnics in Milan and Warsaw. For 10 years he worked in Basel at the Herzog & de Meuron studio, dealing, among other things, with the design of the expansion of the Tate Modern building in London. Since 2017, he has co-founded the Architecture Club studio.

Basel and Venice. Basel because it's on a human scale, Venice because there are no cars.

Karolina Slawecka, because I only want to work with Architecture Club.

Hand-drawn and computer drawing.

Neither.
