House on the Escarpment designed by MUS ARCHITECTS

24 of February '20

The notion of a "house on a hen's foot" has acquired a whole new meaning in a project by MUS ARCHITECTS studio. The house on the slope does not stand on one, but on two feet, and on reinforced concrete. This creative solution happily forced the architects, unfavorable at first glance, the terrain.

The house in its originality is very simple. About 100m² have been divided by reinforced concrete shields into an entrance and utility area, which includes a guest room, bathroom and utility room, and a living-privatearea, divided into a living room with kitchen and a bedroom with bathroom. From the middle part of the house one can access a small terrace, from which stairs lead to the garden. There is an extended recreational area, whose body of the house partially offers shade on hot days. This zone can also be accessed from the courtyard, from both sides of the building.

Despite the large windows, the house is shielded from neighboring glances, opening fully to the west-facing side of the forest. On the east side, the walls are almost fully built up, allowing its residents to enjoy privacy and a feeling of seclusion from the local community.
