The Museum of the City of Gdynia and Galeria Klif invite you to an exhibition titled: "Fashion and Beauty" dedicated to the history of the first beauty and hairdressing salons, which could be called the prototypes of today's shopping centers of interwar Gdynia. The opening of the exhibition will take place online on the Museum's website and Klif Gallery's Facebook page.
The virtual opening of the "Fashion and Beauty" exhibition will take place on July 3 at 5pm on the website of the Museum of the City of Gdynia and on Facebook of Galeria Klif, the Museum of the City of Gdynia and Cultural Gdynia!
The "Fashion and Beauty" exhibition will serve as a kind of time machine, taking visitors back to the times of Gdynia's first beauty salons, to places that can be called prototypes of modern shopping malls. The exhibition will show cosmetic and hairdressing salons against the background of the fascinating history of Gdynia's interwar entrepreneurship.
Unique and previously unpublished photographs from the Museum's collection show interwar Gdynia in its full glory - it's the different shades of fashion of the time, it's the unique chic and style that inspires to this day. Finally, it is the amazing stories associated with the presented photos, inextricably linked to the myth of the city of the sea and dreams.
The opening of the exhibition will be an opportunity to learn the secrets of the presented photographs, which will be presented during a virtual walk by Dariusz Malszycki, co-curator of the exhibition together with Izabela Meronk from the Education Center of the Gdynia City Museum! The exhibition will be on display throughout the summer season on the first floor of the Klif Gallery.
