Once again, the European Center for Architecture, Design and Urban Studies and the private Museum of Architecture and Design - Chicago Athenaeum are awarding 40 architects and designers under the age of 40. The jury identifies individuals who promise to be rising stars of European architecture.
In this year's edition of the competition, two Poles were among the forty winners. The process of selecting the winners involves the evaluation of applications by a jury, which analyzes the projects in terms of innovation, unusual solutions, the use of the latest technologies and the search for new materials, as well as their ecological aspect. Participation in the competition requires a fee. The prize was awarded by a jury consisting of: María González Aranguren, Laertis Antonios Ando Vassiliou, Elena Douvlou, Piotr Kuczia.
In this installment of the competition, two Poles were awarded - Kamil Domachowski and Konrad Loesch.
Kamil Dom achowski is an architect and founder of the IFAgroup studio, which has won numerous awards in architectural competitions. Domachowski's studio was awarded the first prize in the competition for the building of the World War II Museum (2010), and won honorable mentions in competitions for the Kielce Theater (2017) or the New Pavilion of the National Museum in Warsaw (2022).
Konrad Loesch is an architect and partner in the Loesch+Partners studio, dealing primarily with residential, public architecture and interiors. The award-winning architect's studio received first prizes in the competition for the concept for the redevelopment of the Market Square in Skala (2023) and honorable mention in the competition for the Ice Hall in Oświęcim (2023).
