Starting Thursday, May 28, the public is invited to Katowice's Rondo Sztuki for an exhibition entitled. "Design 32: The Best Design Diplomas" of public art schools in Poland. The project, organized by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, will be open to the public with the necessary safety regulations. There will be no traditional vernissage, but there will be something to look at!
The best design diplomas 2019
In the Rondo Sztuki gallery, we can see thirty-two diploma projects selected by eight public art universities. On the other hand, we will see the best diploma works from the last ten years in the Gallery + upstairs. The keyword of this year's tenth anniversary edition and exhibition is relationships. The word is taken literally - as relationships between people and the external environment, and also occurs in the context of explaining, interpreting, reporting on themes and concepts.
Relationships in design art
The exhibition is divided into five sections, which form distinct thematic areas. The first category includes works devoted to interpersonal relationships - projects that define the essence of ties within the family and with neighbors. In addition, the projects address communication barriers and the entanglement of humans in the problems of life in the 21st century.
The second category is projects that address the topic of health, body and hygiene. Ergonomics and taking care of oneself are priorities, according to the authors of the works included in this category.
The third section includes works that address the subject of man's relationship with the environment, animals and their role in today's world, including in different cultural circles.
The fourth category is projects, relating to identity and the relationship of the past to the present. These are works that draw on tradition, but also redefine the identity of places and products.
The final, fifth category is the space where the virtual world meets reality. The projects make use of technology, showing how it can be even more effectively applied.
The exhibition will feature graduation works from:
- Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw,
- Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw.
Calendar
- exhibition opening: May 28 this year.
- address: Rondo Sztuki Gallery, Gen. Jerzy Ziętek Roundabout 1, Katowice, Poland.
Design 32 shows a broad perspective of young design in the country - it marks the areas of interest, shows the graduation themes, which are often a reflection of current design trends. It's also an opportunity for meetings, which we are forced to severely limit at the current moment, but the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and Rondo Sztuki have an answer to this as well. Not only has an online guided tour of the exhibition been planned, but parallel to the exhibition there will be a series of online meetings titled. "Vigilance Time" and "Typorozmowy".
