The Zencha collection 's unique design by Sebastian Herkner was inspired by traditional rituals and Japanese craftsmanship. It combines custom countertop washbasins with minimalist furniture. The most important feature of Zench's washbasins and bathtubs is their rounded shape with an elegantly turned outward rim. The products are made of DuraCeram® and DuraSolid®, so they blend perfectly with geometric furniture. The furniture is made of materials such as wood and glass that have a pleasant texture to the touch. They are not only elegant, but also functional, thanks to ample storage space.
"I always wanted to create a bathroom series for Duravit," said the designer from Offenbach. Now his collection is entering the market, and he is taking his place among well-known designers such as Philippe Starck and Cecilie Manz.
Expressive yet delicate design
The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the home. Increasingly, it is becoming a place designed for relaxation and to carry out one's own intimate ritual. With its balanced shapes, colors and materials, Zencha appeals to all the senses.
The design was inspired by handmade Japanese ceramic tea cups, which were appreciated and used in the project by Sebastian Herkner. Their delicate, organic shapes are transferred to Zench products in a slightly different, abstract convention. Sanitary products, including washbasins created from high-quality DuraCeram®, are designed as rectangles with a rounded bottom and tapering to an elegantly curved rim. Seamless bathtubs made of DuraSolid®, delight with their pleasant-to-the-touch finish and tasteful matte aesthetics.
Multifaceted and functional: modular furniture pieces
The Zencha collection's furniture is designed in a modular manner, allowing it to be arranged in a variety of ways, for example, as open shelves or drawers with built-in push-open and soft-close functions. Combined with a nabalt washbasin, the furniture becomes a beautiful complement to the bathroom. As a place to store bathroom accessories, they add character to the room and make it cozy by using different finishes. The furniture also has an easy-to-clean surface that is resistant to leaving fingerprints. They are available in different color options: White Super Mat, Taupe Super Mat and Graphite Super Mat. The cabinet fronts add character to the bathroom; Natural Oak and Black Oak create a warm and cozy atmosphere, while white and black textured glass bring sensual elegance to the bathroom. Herkner also designed the mirror to relate to the round washbasins. Its organic form is highlighted by an LED beam that can be controlled by a sensor located on the mirror's lower edge.

Products made of DuraCeram® consist of two differently shaped washbasins: a curved square of 420x42 mm and a rounded rectangle of 550×390 mm - in both variants there is the option of selecting the faucets in White, White Mat, Satin Gray Mat and Anthracite Mat. In addition, the square type of basin is covered by Duravit's lifetime warranty. They can be combined with selected Duravit series.
Onsen Japanese-inspired bathtubs
The 1250×1250 mm square version of the freestanding bathtub made of DuraSolid® is inspired by the shape of a countertop basin. The user has the feeling of being immersed in hot springs, reminiscent of participating in a Japanese Onsen bath. In addition, the bathtub is available in two compact variants measuring 1600×850 mm and 1800×900 mm, in which a whirlpool function can be optionally installed for even more relaxation.
