"Skyscrapers of Wroclaw 1919-1932" is one of the first publications devoted to the phenomenon of Wroclaw as one of the most important European laboratories of modernity. The book opens with two articles: one that introduces the reader to the issue of high-rise construction, and another that discusses the high-rise projects of Max Berg, the urban architect of Wroclaw, author of, among other things, the monumental Centennial Hall, who, like other artists of the time, was fascinated by the idea of high-rise buildings. Subsequent texts published in the book are devoted to completed Wroclaw buildings - post office and savings bank buildings, as well as the characteristics of monumental office buildings and department stores of Wroclaw, which by their proportions, scale or structural solution referred to the idea of a high-rise building. The text is supplemented by a catalog of high-rise buildings and skyscraper projects for Wroclaw.
