Atrey Design Studio
design: Atrey & Associates
Indian studio Atrey & Associates, designed by architect Arun Sharma, is a unique space that combines modern architectural solutions with inspiration from nature. A place for work, reflection and innovation at the same time, the project is designed to "breathe" new ideas and creative energy on a daily basis. The leitmotif that inspired the entire concept is the tree—a symbol of life, strength and harmony. The form of the building reflects the dynamic structure of the tree, with central columns acting as the trunk and cantilevered panels resembling spreading branches. Studio Atrey is an excellent example of contemporary Indian architecture, where innovative technologies are combined with respect for nature, sustainable design and a modern approach to office space.

inspired by the fractal structure of a tree
The most inspiring feature of the tree is its ability to support an extensive crown, supported by a trunk from which branches emerge with a fractal structure. This complex form has become a model for the structure of the studio, which explores the relationship between shape and structural strength.

The building, standing on a plot of approximately 9 x 18 meters, located in a prestigious residential area in New Delhi, resembles a tree bent by the wind. The central columns (the trunk of the tree) support cantilevered panels. An outer shell made of beams encloses the studio space. Greenery adds softness to the entire concrete structure. The form of the building with curved walls and ceilings also creates an unusual atmosphere in the interior.

green walls as an eco-friendly element
The view of greenery is not limited to balconies or courtyards, but also to green walls inside the building, on each floor, planted with air-purifying plants. Courtyards on each floor provide a moment of respite from work. The east wall has the largest glazing, letting in the maximum amount of daylight, while the south side has green courtyards on each floor.

nature-inspired architecture—a green interior in an urban landscape
The office is environmentally friendly thanks to hidden cooling systems in the floor plates on each floor. This system keeps the building cool in summer and warm in winter, maximizing energy efficiency. Solar panels have been installed on the roof, another step toward a building responsive to nature. Rainwater harvesting has also been considered, taking into account falling groundwater levels. Green walls on each floor cover a large area and are planted with air-purifying plants.

integrating art with architecture—creatinga unique office space
The entrance to the four-story studio is reminiscent of a journey through beautiful, raw and landscapes. Glass revolving doors create an artistic entrance. Once inside, a sculptural dry tree stands next to a wooden bench. The raw walls, exposed ceiling are complemented by concrete and gravel flooring. What 's more, visitors are greeted by the sound of water, which makes waiting in the waiting room more pleasant. The basement contains an open waiting room, conference room, reception area and restroom. The conference room is lit by natural light, which creates a play of shadows during the day.

modern studio with spaces for interaction and exchange of ideas
The building has an elevator that leads to the upper levels. The ground and second floors are design spaces where design teams work together to realize ideas. The studio is an open space for interaction with a creative atmosphere. Both floors feature open studios, connected courtyards, a meeting room overlooking the atrium and a restroom. The second floor is a central location where teams meet for seminars, presentations and communal moments at the bar.

a creative oasis of wood and bamboo—VR on the third floor
There are two rooms on the third floor: the VR space and the chief architect's office, both overlooking the green courtyard. The VR room is distinguished by its unique atmosphere, thanks to walls and ceiling decorated with bamboo. A circular roof with a skylight adds drama to the interior. The atmosphere is complemented by custom furniture, made from sleeper wood. Adding to the relaxation on this floor is a two-story toilet, with a window in the roof, which creates a calm, harmonious space.

The positive impact of architecture on the well-being and health of employees and clients
The office building of design studio Atrey & Associates with the project perfectly demonstrates how modern Indian architecture can harmoniously combine innovation, functionality and respect for nature. The office space, inspired by the form of a tree, is an example of how a well-designed duplex can interact with the work environment to create a place conducive to creativity and mental health. The combination of green walls, natural materials and intelligent building systems not only meets the needs of modern offices, but also sets a new path for sustainable architecture in India. As a result, the project is becoming a symbol of the future of office space, where tradition meets modernity and innovation interacts with ecological solutions.
