Why do streets sink during heavy rainfall? In addition to overflowing sewer systems, impermeable pavements - the concrete and asphalt armor tightly covering our cities that does not drain water into the ground - are a big culprit.
One solution to this situation is permeable pavement systems - their widespread use as a replacement for impervious pavements can mitigate the economic and environmental impacts caused by climate change.

To address the aforementioned problems, GalaProdukt has launched two pavement strengthening systems EcoRaster (base/grass grid) and EcoBloxx (paving blocks withdrainage), which can be used to create heavy-duty pavements needed for areas such as parking lots, fire roads or maneuvering areas, among others, while retaining the function of allowing water to pass through to the ground.

The EcoRaster system of structured lawn grids allows for more than ninety percent biologically active pavement. The grids can also be filled with grit, or - using the EcoBloxx system - to achieve a surface that looks like paving blocks, but is one hundred percent water permeable.
