Why do streets sink during heavy rainfall? In addition to overflowing sewer systems, impermeable p avements - concrete and asphalt armor tightly covering our cities - are a big culprit.
One solution to this situation is permeable pavement systems - their widespread use as a replacement for impervious surfaces can mitigate the economic and environmental impacts caused by climate change.

To address the aforementioned problems, GalaProdukt has launched two pavement reinforcement systems EcoRaster (base/grass grid) and EcoBloxx (paving blocks with drainage), which can be used to create load-bearing pavements needed in areas such as parking lots, fire roads or maneuvering areas, among others, while maintaining the function of allowing water to pass through to the ground.

The EcoRaster system of structured lawn grids allows for a biologically active surface of more than ninety percent. The grids can also be filled with grit or, using the EcoBloxx system, to achieve a surface that looks like paving blocks, but is one hundred percent water permeable.

Green water-permeable paving systems can be seen as another important step for urban planning and a common-sense approach to managing public and private areas.
