Why is it exactly Robert Konieczny who designs the Aura building in Wroclaw? What are aparthotels? How can the state in cooperation with the private sector improve the housing market? Przemysław Ciępka talks with Piotr Voelkel, founder of the VOX Group, about great investments and problems of Polish housing.
Piotr Voelkel - entrepreneur, connoisseur and patron of the arts, founder of the VOX Group and School of Form, the first international design university in Poland, and co-founder of SWPS University, as well as Collegium Da Vinci. He began his career in 1973 as technical director of the Polish Dance Theater, before moving into the production of interior trim in 1979. In the following years, his business was transformed into the VOX Capital Group, which today is one of the most important Polish consortiums of interior design and finishing companies. Involved in the development of Polish contemporary art, including as founder of the VOX-Artis Foundation, thanks to which the sculptures Unrecognized by Magdalena Abakanowicz were realized, President of the Wielkopolska Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts and initiator of the creation of Concordia Design - "a center of design, creativity and business." Investor of the Bałtyk office building in Poznań, designed by the MVRDV studio, and the Aura aparthotel, which is being built according to the design of the KWK Promes studio.
