Urban exhibition pavilion,
design: SelgasCano
Spanish architectural studio SelgasCano has won the competition to design the Xicheng district exhibition pavilion, which will soon become a vibrant accent on the map of Beijing. Consisting of two separate but harmoniously connected parts, the structure will offer a spacious exhibition hall and an intimate rooftop terrace accessible to visitors.

exhibition space open to the city
An open, glass-enclosed exhibition hall has been planned for the first floor, with large glass facades that will allow for unobstructed visual contact with the interior. The transparency of the facades will reinforce the building's connection to its surroundings, creating a space integrated into the fabric of the city that invites visitors to enter.

interior flexibility
- space to suit different needs
The interiors will be designed for maximum flexibility to accommodate a variety of functions and events. The space will be arranged so that, with the help of mobile furniture and modular layouts, the interiors can change as needed - from intimate meetings to large events. This versatility will allow the pavilion to serve as an active gathering place, integrating local art, history and modern Beijing design.

rooftop terrace
- combining nature with urban structure
The centerpiece of the facility will be a rooftop terrace that will combine greenery, water elements and urban art installations to create a place of relaxation that offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. This multi-level terrace will become a space that connects nature and the city, creating a welcoming place accessible to all.

An intimate oasis in an urban space
Suspended above the terrace will be a three-story block in shades of yellow and orange, distinguished by its organic form and smooth, shiny facades that contrast with the geometric, more subdued structure below. This space will serve as a tranquil venue for private meetings, presentations and business events, creating a calming oasis in the heart of a dynamic city.

The contrasts between the transparency and solidity of the structure, between nature and urbanism, will reflect the complexity and dynamism of contemporary Beijing. The harmonious composition of these elements will make the building a new symbol of the urban landscape, reflecting the spirit of modernity and cultural integration of the city.
