Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof, the architect duo from the award-winning architecture studio CHYBIK + KRISTOF, founded in 2010, will be the guests of today's lecture organized by the Cracow branch of the Association of Polish Architects.
CHYBIK + KRISTOF is a studio based in the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Prague, Brno and Bratislava) created by a team of more than fifty architects and urban planners from around the world. Its founders - Ondřej Chybík gained his education and professional experience in the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland (at ETH Zurich), and Michal Krištof - in Belgium and Denmark (at Bjarke Ingels Group).
According to the organizers of the lecture, the studio's ongoing projects constantly push the boundaries of typology in order to create architecture that will benefit future generations. The office's most recent projects include the famous Brno Furniture Gallery, built with 900 chairs, the modernization of the Brutalist Zvonařka bus station, Lahofer Winery, the expansion of Prague's Vaclav Havel Airport and the Needles Hockey Arena.

When asked by A&B what (in three words) architecture is to him,Ondřej Chybík said - responsibility, curiosity and diversity, Michal Krištof in turn pointed to space, people and concept. In today's lecture, the architects will talk about, among other things, the history of the studio, ways to win new commissions and their own architectural philosophy.
They will also attempt to answer the question of what is the role of the architect in the generation of their generation. They will discuss their own experiences and strategies to help establish their generational understanding of architecture, the organizers announced.
The lecture will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 6:00 pm, on the Zoom platform. The lecture will be conducted in English.
