Seamless floors in office spaces.
From the series "Modern office buildings - trends 2021"
Seamless resin floors have long been present in office spaces. Architects appreciate them for their ability to achieve a modern, uniform surface with no visible divisions. The growing popularity of this technology is also due to the high degree of design freedom. This applies both to the possible color effects, textures and the degree of gloss of the surface, as well as combining with other materials and making patterns.
Experts from the Flowcrete brand, a leading manufacturer and supplier of resin flooring, present the most interesting trends using this technology in contemporary office spaces.
Elegant resin terazzo in the entrance area
In representative areas, such as the lobby or reception area, striking ground and polished terazzo resin flooring, or Mondéco Classic, is used to emphasize the company's prestige. This visually appealing flooring system is made from a compound consisting of colored epoxy resin and marble aggregate. As a result of careful processing, it produces a polished stone effect.

Thanks to its high abrasion resistance, terazzo resin flooring retains its excellent appearance for years. Moreover, it is easy to clean and maintain. In addition to standard colors, which are dominated by shades of white and gray, this technology allows you to create individual color combinations and make almost any graphic design - it can be a company logo, for example.
Industrial-inspired flooring
Office interior designs, especially in the new technology sector, are often kept in a simple, minimalist style. Such projects use seamless flooring systems, which until recently were associated only with production halls. Industrial aesthetics can be achieved, for example, by choosing floors based on resin and colored sand grains or flakes, such as in shades of beige or gray.
Such solutions are so versatile that they can be used in rooms with different functions. An example of a flooring that has set the market standard in industry for years, and is now also used in office spaces, and both in representative lobbies, conference rooms and technical areas, is Peran STB.

This system is made from a clear epoxy resin and colored quartz sand. It has high mechanical strength, which means resistance to scratching, abrasion and impact. The sand content gives it slip resistance, which can be adjusted to individual conditions and usage requirements. This type of flooring is available in more than 20 standard colors, while custom blends of tinted sand can also be created.
A new, innovative version of this flooring, Peran STB Public, with reduced VOC emissions and increased UV resistance, has been developed for public facilities, including offices.
Another option that works well for office spaces arranged in an industrial style is an epoxy resin and flakes-based flooring system, Peran PGF Floor Flakes. Single-color flakes of any color or mixtures of tinted flakes can be used for this floor. It has a slightly slip-resistant, delicate texture reminiscent of orange peel.

The "WOW" effect, or flooring that catches the eye
In modern workplaces, zones for meetings, conversations, exchange of ideas are gaining importance. When designing a space designed to stimulate creativity and foster integration, architects often reach for non-standard solutions. It happens that the floor then becomes one of the main elements that attract attention. Such an effect can be achieved by using a distinctive color or a non-standard, striking texture, such as stone carpets.
An example of this type of solution is Rustik Glamourstone flooring, which is made from specially graded marble pebbles, surrounded and glued together with clear epoxy resin. This unusual material evokes positive associations with carpet in the audience. Thanks to its specific spatial structure, it muffles the sound of footsteps and gives the impression of softness, which, combined with the natural hard aggregate, invariably makes a great impression at first contact.

Smooth, matte floors in contrasting shades
Smooth floors in uniform shades of white, black or gray are an element often used in the creative industry, such as in advertising agencies or architectural studios. They create a modern interior, where it is easier to focus and get fresh ideas.
This type of visual effect can be achieved by using poured type flooring, such as Peran Comfort. This smooth, flexible floor based on tinted polyurethane resin is available in an interesting range of colors, including bold, bright colors as well as more subdued shades. It has an attractive matte-satin finish, and maintains consistent color even in rooms with intense natural light.

Carefully designed parking lots and stairwells
In modern high-end office buildings, parking garages are treated like a showcase of the building, which determines a good first impression. Resin flooring is an important feature of modern parking garages, allowing them to create original and colorful, yet safe and user-friendly spaces.
Deckshield 's polyurethane resin-based flooring systems are flexible, waterproof, and mechanically and chemically resistant, including to fuels, automotive operating fluids or components of de-icing salts brought in on vehicle tires. The main function of these coatings is to protect the concrete substrate from damage due to external factors. The quartz sand contained in them creates an anti-slip surface, and the varied colors allow clear marking of pedestrian routes and parking spaces, which increases the safety of all traffic participants. Thin resin coatings are also used in all kinds of technical rooms, both in the basement of office buildings and on so-called technical floors, which require sealed and flexible floors.

Resin floors are also used in stairwells. The most popular solution is a coating of colored resin with a sprinkling of quartz sand, such as Flowcoat SF41, a floor that can be made in almost any color. Due to health and safety regulations, the edges of the first and last steps of each run, for example, use strips of resin with enhanced slip resistance in a contrasting shade or metal strips with a raised pattern.
