"Lviv crematorium"
author's description
The project of a crematorium complex with a columbarium and a ritual hall. The building of the crematorium has the shape of a square, in which a circle is inscribed. Where the square is a symbol of order and symbolizes the four basic processes of life: four seasons, days, four stages of life - childhood, youth, maturity, old age. The circle is a symbol of heaven and the sun, infinity and eternity. It embodies and reveals the essence of eternity and finitude, their inseparable unity.
Through its creation it shows the infinite in that and where the beginning coincides with the end. The main product choice for the facade and interior of the building are Tubądzin Group tiles. The idea of the interior is the coherence of the materials used on the outside with those we introduced into the interior design.
jury's opinion
"Lviv Crematorium" is intended to draw attention to the situation of society in a country at war. The project is full of symbolism. The square block embodies the order and transience of the four seasons, the four stages of life (childhood, youth, maturity, old age). Inside the square building, a circle is inscribed to embody the eternal order of the sun traveling through the sky, eternity and infinity. It is the place where the beginning meets the end.
