An honorable mention was awarded for a skillful attempt to adapt the old fabric of the building to new spatial and functional narratives. The hypothetical, if somewhat wishful scenario was skillfully inscribed into the existing, clear structure of the building. The solutions, often formally insignificant, seem to acquire significance in the new dimension of public spaces. The author manages to preserve traces of the past, respecting the best in the existing building, while creating a good space for contemporary needs.
The project proves that even if the chosen path of redevelopment is not easy, it can be right, if not essential, for a modern way of sustainable building and living.
