abstract
The subject of this thesis is a technological modernization project of buildings of the Lipsk type in Dąbrowa Górnicza on the example of a complex of workers' hotels for employees of the Katowice Steelworks and their adaptation to low-cost housing. The aim of the work is to propose the development of a coherent methodology for the preservation of the architectural heritage of the 1970s and to present a new scenario for the reuse of Leipzig-type buildings, thus touching on the discussion of the availability of non-market housing.
The work presented here seeks to present new forms of housing typology adapted to the conditions of the existing fabric, and thus propose a contemporary update of the Leipzig-type building system, the original design of which was developed in the early 1970s at the Leipzig Light Metal Building Combine- VEB Metalleichtbaukombinat in the German Democratic Republic.
