Justification of the jury:
The award was given for a space created with great culture and respect for the
future users. The traditional fair purpose was combined with social and cultural functions
and cultural functions. It is a place that demonstrates the contemporary role of the market: on the one hand, allowing it to
maintain its historical, market purpose and initiate various public events
(paved surface), on the other hand, allowing individual meetings in a setting of arranged
low and high greenery. The design of this new downtown market is the result, inspired by the
Flemish experience, a two-stage urban planning and architectural competition. Through
the entire design stage, public consultations were held. The investment was financed
from the budget of the city of Poznań.
