Kengo Kuma & Associates

Kengo Kuma & Associates is an architectural studio founded in 1990 by Kengo Kuma, a professor of architecture at the University of Tokyo. The office carries out projects all over the world, operating in more than twenty countries, and has won numerous prestigious awards, such as the Architectural Institute of Japan Award, the "Spirit of Nature" Award for Wooden Architecture (Finland) and the International Award for Stone Architecture (Italy).

The studio focuses on designing buildings that naturally harmonize with the surrounding environment and local cultural context. Kengo Kuma & Associates strives to create subtle, intimate spaces that move away from the dominance of steel and concrete in favor of innovative materials. In its designs, the office explores a new approach to architecture in the post-industrial era, emphasizing the integration of buildings with their surroundings and respect for the human scale.
