A novelty in facade thermal insulation fastening from Rawlplug.
From the series "Modern facade and wall materials - trends 2021"
The R-TFIX-8M facade stud is a novelty in the field of fastening facade thermal insulation from Rawlplug. It's a response to the market's burning demand for a fastener that will combine energy efficiency with user efficiency. When creating it, we kept in mind our close cooperation with experts, industry practitioners and what they need in their daily work.

The result is a new facade dowel with a driven metal pin for all substrates - a durable, easy-to-apply solution that can be used with all insulators in both surface and recessed installation.
Long-term savings
R-TFIX-8M is a product recommended in particular for energy-efficient and passive construction. Minimizing the operating costs of buildings is one of the requirements of modern construction, focusing on creating buildings that are comfortable, economical to maintain and meet the conditions of ecology, which is playing an increasingly important role. Therefore, R-TFIX-8M is synonymous with energy efficiency. Its innovative design with a 5-fold extended thermal barrier between the steel nail and the facade surface guarantees a reduction in point thermal bridges by as much as 50% compared to commonly used fixings on the market, down to 0.001 W/K for each product length. This has determined the spectacular result - the new Rawlplug dowel has the best heat transfer resistance parameters. What's more, the low thermal transmittance of the dowel achieved in this way is also responsible for eliminating the risk of spot discoloration of the facade, which results in minimizing further possible financial expenses needed to repair the discolored facade.
Simplicity is an ally of time
Optimization of working time is a well-known adversary on modern investments. Tight schedules require the use of solutions that are increasingly ergonomic, and at the same time - still meet the most stringent safety and reliability standards. Rawlplug products come straight from construction sites: it is in these conditions and requirements that they have the roots of their creation. It is no different with the R-TFIX-8M, which was intended as an answer to the need for an effective, versatile and easy-to-use facade fastener. The solution to the above problems lies in the proprietary design of the dowel. The shortest anchor zone in this type of product reduces installation time and the length of the drill bit used. Additional cost efficiency is achieved by using a shorter dowel length relative to other similar products on the market. Even greater economy is provided by the unique design of the anchor zone, which ensures the transfer of high loads and thus reduces the number of anchorages recommended per m² - so visible savings are possible already at the design stage and when estimating the number of anchorages required.
Two installation steps on the road to reliability
No less important in the case of serial fixings is the ease of application, which not only ultimately reduces working time, but also makes installation uncomplicated and very comfortable for the operator. The driving technique used in the case of R-TFIX-8M, combined with the pre-assembly of the dowel with a two-component expansion pin, guarantees the fastest product installation time, compared to other types of dowels of this type. In turn, the diameter of the dowel head at the beating point, which has been increased to 15 mm, makes it easier to drive the dowel centrally with a hammer and further stabilizes the installation: as a result, it significantly increases the comfort of working with the product, and the pre-assembled components of the fastener save working time.

In principle, the installation of R-TFIX-8M is limited to only two steps: inserting the dowel into the hole and hitting it with a hammer. Simply put: you drill a hole with a diameter of 8 mm and a depth depending on the type of substrate. And since it is a pre-assembled dowel, you then insert it into the prepared hole and tap it with a hammer. The aforementioned increased diameter of the beater head and the compression zone will facilitate the correct seating of the fixing against the insulator. Done! No need for power tools or installation accessories makes the new Rawlplug dowel one of the easiest facade fasteners to install.
What's more, R-TFIX-8M is designed for use in a full range of substrates. Thanks to the aforementioned innovative anchor zone, as one of the few products of its kind, the Rawlplug dowel can be used for installation in a shielding concrete panel of a large slab (also known as a textured slab) from as little as 4 cm of its thickness! This is a unique advantage that allows a significant reduction in investment costs by reducing the required drilling time and using the shortest possible dowels. The savings really are on the peg!
A small peg for a big slab
According to averaged estimates, only in Poland there are about 4 million apartments in blocks of apartments built with the so-called "great slab" technology. After recent technical studies, commissioned by the Ministry of Transport and Construction, it turned out that the estimated lifespan of this type of building has increased significantly from the original predictions, most likely by another 100-120 years. Large slab blocks will therefore continue to be home to millions of people, but who now want more from them - more comfort, warmth, airtight insulation, as well as an aesthetically pleasing appearance through a renovated facade. This entails huge investments for the thermal modernization of hundreds of buildings wherever the large slab has been the most popular construction technique over the years. With a solution dedicated to the mentioned conditions comes R-TFIX-8M from Rawlplug. The high strength parameters of the dowel allow its versatile use in all types of ABCDE substrates and for all types of thermal insulation, as confirmed by ETAs.
What's more, R-TFIX-8M is the only product certified for anchoring thermal insulation panels in 40 mm thick large slab concrete structures, where the usually thin substrate wall limits the possibility of effective anchoring. It is also important that the very high stiffness of the plate (0.7 kN/mm) counteracts the formation of facade vibrations under the action of wind suction forces, which directly affects the stabilization of the insulating system of the entire facade and makes R-TFIX-8M from Rawlplug the most desirable solution for system builders.
The strength of fastening lies in strong arguments
Rawlplug's offer is not products, it is a complex package of benefits, including additional perks: from technical advice and specialized training to comprehensive documentation and proprietary design calculation tools. When you choose the new R-TFIX-8M façade dowel from Rawlplug, you're choosing more than a perfect fastening - you're choosing the strength and reliability behind it.
