The fermacell® Therm 25 underfloor heating system is a fast and 100% dry solution for the installation of underfloor heating systems. The system offers more renovation possibilities due to its low installation height and low dead weight. Installation is simple.

ENERGY SAVINGS
The underfloor heating system is popular because it not only provides cozy warmth in a room, but also heats efficiently and evenly. Above all, energy savings are an important argument in favor of this form of heating. However, installing underfloor heating, especially in existing buildings, is often much more expensive than installing a conventional heating system. In addition, there are often problems with the height of the installation during renovations.

A SOLUTION SPECIFICALLY FOR EXISTING BUILDINGS
With the fermacell® Therm 25 underfloor heating system, James Hardie now has a suitable solution in its portfolio, especially recommended for existing buildings. Importantly, fermacell® Therm 25 dry floor elements do not increase moisture in the building. It is a 100% dry solution.

The system is distinguished by its special cutters with grooves for laying heating pipes and its small size. This makes it particularly suitable for renovations. This is also supported by its relatively low weight, so that static problems do not occur even with old wooden beam ceilings. The quick and easy installation that results from the handy 500x1000 mm (fermacell® Therm 25) or 500x500 mm (fermacell® Therm 25 round) format, as well as the fact that it can be walked on andfinish in any way you like after just 24 hours, so there is no downtime are advantages that are readily accepted on any construction site, even in new buildings.

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS
As a general rule, full-surface support and a load-bearing dry substrate are required for the installation of fermacell® Therm 25 elements. Once the preparatory work has been completed and an even substrate with sound insulation has been created, the fermacell® Therm 25 elements can be laid freely and without a fixed installation direction. They are joined at the joints. The joints are not glued. The connection is achieved only after the installation of an additional top layer. The fermacell® Therm 25 round piece is available for doorways or projects with diagonal walls. For larger accumulations of pipes, such as in the heating manifold area, Therm 25 elements can be adjusted so that there is room for a sufficiently large number of pipe sections.

Immediately after laying the underfloor heating elements, the heating contractor can begin laying the pipes. After the system has been finally checked for leaks, an additional top layer of fermacell® Therm 25 gypsum-fiber board (thickness depending on the application area) is laid on top of the fermacell® Therm 25 elements in a joint offset arrangement >167 mm. To do this, installers first apply fermacell™ screed adhesive along the joints and between each groove. The necessary pressure is achieved with fermacell™ gypsum board screws or clamps inserted into the board surface in a grid of approximately 165x250 mm. fermacell® Therm 25 is suitable for laying 16 mm thick heating pipes and can be used in all areas of application.

Installation on fermacell® gypsum-fiber board or on existing substrates is also possible. However, some special requirements must be taken into account - see the installation instructions.
Flexible under-floor coverings such as laminate, textile or PVC can be used as finishes, as can ceramic and stone floors, as can parquet or other coverings made of wood.
