In 2022, LG has prepared for its customers a lot of novelties in the segment of HVAC solutions. Almost all models have been refreshed with additional functionalities. There were also new devices, such as the Artcool Beige room air conditioner - in a stylish beige color or an air handling unit with energy recovery.

Ecological solutions
All units in the range of room air condition ers use an environmentally friendly refrigerant with a low GWP rating for their operation. Refrigerant R32 is characterized by a very low coefficient of creation of the greenhouse effect, and does not affect the ozone layer of the atmosphere.

Modern air conditioning technologies
A novelty used in models such as the Deluxe, Artcool Mirror, Artcool Beige and Dualcool with air purifier next to the ionizer is UVnano technology, which removes up to 99.99% of bacteria using UV LED light. This makes the fan that produces the blast clean and fresh.

UVnano technology - how does it work?
Well, ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of UVC (260 to 270 nm) directly damages the DNA of microorganisms (bacteria), preventing their multiplication.

Anti-allergic filters in LG air conditioners
Among the novelties that the air conditioners have been equipped with is an additional anti-allergy filter. It was used to maximize the air filtration process in the units. It is covered with a coating that absorbs harmful substances that can cause allergies. The air conditioner strongly absorbs indoor air and removes allergens in the environment, such as house dust mites, pollen, fungi and mold. This function is available in almost all models. The effectiveness of the filter has been confirmed by the BAF, an organization that supports adults and children in the fight against allergies.

Air conditioner auto-cleaning function
In addition, each unit has a function to automatically clean its interior after the cooling process. The main cause of unpleasant odors escaping from air conditioners is mold, which multiplies in the heat exchanger when it is damp. The germs can then spread through the air. The automatic cleaning function dries the heat exchanger to prevent microbial growth.

Pro-healthy air ionization
It is also worth noting the technology mentioned earlier, ionization of the air flowing through the unit. It reduces harmful microscopic particles by saturating the air passing through the air conditioner with more than 3 million ions. The process works as follows:
- Negatively and positively charged ions are released into the air by the device.
- The ions then seek to combine, forming highly reactive hydroxyl radicals (OH group).
- By adhering to the surface of particles of dust mites, mold, fungi or other microorganisms, they "extract" the hydrogen needed to form a water molecule and thus break down harmful substances.

Smart home with LG ThinQ - Wi-Fi control.
All air conditioners in the RAC series can be controlled from anywhere in the world using an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet via the free LG ThinQ app in Polish. In addition to the comfort and convenience of control, the application increases the functionality of the air conditioner. This is because it has been equipped, among other things, with a weekly programmer or energy consumption monitoring.

The unit is also equipped with a power mode, which allows the air to reach its target temperature in a shorter time. The fan combined with two separate fan blades allows the unit to deliver warm air all the way to floor level, even when installed in ceilings up to 5 meters high. The LG DUAL Vane cassette is equipped with up to 6 airflow modes that conveniently direct the air in the desired direction. The indirect airflow mode can also evenly maintain a comfortable temperature without blowing cold air directly on building occupants in rooms such as offices or hospitals.

Smart sensor technology
It also provides high efficiency and comfort. Sensors can measure the temperature at the floor surface to ensure even distribution of heating and cooling. The system detects whether there are people in the room and turns the unit off automatically so as to save energy when there are none. All these features ensure adequate efficiency and comfort.

Air conditioner and air purifier in one
The unit can be equipped with an advanced 5-stage air purification system through the use of special filters. In the first stage, the device captures pollutants above PM1.0 on a pre-filter. Next, dust is electrified on a specially designed air purification set. The attracted dust is retained on the PM1.0 filter, which is capable of retaining contaminants of 1.0 micrometers (this is better efficiency than in many stationary air purifiers). In the next, fourth phase, the air is deodorized, while the final stage involves ionizing the air to further neutralize harmful particles in the air drawn into the device. What's more, the filters used in the kit only need to be cleaned periodically with water and neutral detergent and regenerated in the sun. There is no need to replace them with new ones. The above-mentioned solutions make the LG Dual Vane four-sided cassette combine an air conditioner and an air purifier.

This product is designed for people who want to control the air supply easily and intuitively. By using separate motors for the air supply blades, the user is able to control each blade independently. The current product was developed for commercial use, but is also popular for use in homes. When the user is in the living room or sleeping in the bedroom, direct-oriented air supply can be a problem, causing discomfort. That's why LG plans to apply DUAL Vane technology to private residential products as well.

UVnano™ technology in LG equipment
The UVnano™ technology used in select LG household appliances, including DUALCOOL air conditioners, refrigerators and water purifiers, ensures clean airflow by preventing the growth of up to 99.99% of bacteria and viruses on the surface of the ERV pre-filter, which captures large dust particles before they enter the home. Indoor air quality is further improved by the ePM1 95% fine dust filter, which captures more than 95% of fine dust particles.

In addition, LG's ERV air handling unit provides accurate real-time air quality monitoring with laser dust andCO2 sensors. Users can check air quality using the LG ThinQ app, an optional wired remote control or a compatible smart home controller. Ventilation performance is automatically adjusted according to detected dust/CO2 levels for added convenience. Dual laser fine dust sensors allow the unit to determine when the fine dust filter needs to be replaced, notifying users via smartphone and wired remote control.
