In recent years, architecture has become increasingly sustainable, with designers and builders seeking solutions that not only meet high aesthetic standards, but are also environmentally friendly. Among many building materials, natural slate stands out as an extremely attractive roofing and facade covering.

Its unique appearance, durability and performance characteristics make it an increasingly popular choice for architects. Designers often use slate in both traditional and modern projects, giving them an elegant and timeless look. Natural slate is a material that is gaining popularity as a roofing material, combining tradition, aesthetics and ecology. Its unusual properties, variety of forms and unique appearance make it an increasingly common choice for investors. With growing environmental awareness, natural slate is becoming an excellent choice for those wishing to combine functionality with beauty in construction projects.

One of the key advantages of natural slate is its remarkable durability. Properly installed slate will last for decades, and in some cases even centuries.

On the technical and performance side, we can install slate in several ways. The first, the most popular and has been used for centuries, is mechanical installation using nails or screws to a wooden substrate. The ways of installation are many. Slate tiles can be of various sizes and shapes, and are about 5 mm thick. The stone is laid with the correct top and side overlap. Proper overlap ensures the tightness of the facade. For partitions with increased fire protection requirements, we can replace the wooden substrate with, for example, a splinter-cement board. The second way of installation is based on slate with a thickness of 1 cm and more. In this case, we use a different construction layout. The slates are not mechanically mounted, but hung on system clips or safety pins in an invisible mounting arrangement.
