From the series "Outdoor spaces - inspiration and technologies - trends 2024"
Concrete elements, such as canopies and blocks, were created for the construction of fences. However, this is not their only application. Due to their appearance and dimensions, they can be used as decorative elements in the garden, or as a complement to an independent structure. The multitude of ideas and arrangements depends only on our imagination. In this article we will present some unusual solutions that can easily be used and reproduced in your own garden.
Retaining walls
Decorative retaining walls are by far one of the most common non-standard uses of fence blocks. There is nothing surprising about this, as concrete elements in this edition look truly phenomenal.

Walls made in this way can be used both as a stylish finishing touch to garden spaces and to protect slopes and earthen borders.

When using concrete blocks for building retaining walls, special attention should be paid to their proper insulation from moisture and organic dirt, such as mosses and lichens. The surface of the wall, which will be backfilled with soil, should be protected with waterproofing materials, such as bituminous coatings, tarps, PVC films or EPDM membranes. It is important to choose the right material according to the conditions in the area.
The use of drainage systems can also help against the influence of moisture. These will drain water from the area around the retaining wall, preventing it from accumulating. Here a good solution will be a drainage system, similar to the one we use for concrete fences.
The exposed layer of blocks is worth impregnating. This will increase the life of the structure and make it significantly easier to clean. For this purpose you can use proven impregnants from JONIEC®.

The KOMBO® system consists, at base, of three elements: the SEA, the TIDE , and the TILES.
The elements differ in length, but can be combined with each other to create various and unique compositions, both in horizontal and vertical patterns. This allows you to create many combinations, so that the structure acquires an individual character. The KOMBO® system also includes in its range of products a canopy, which can be installed after the completion of the arrangement of SEA and TIDE elements. The canopy, in addition to its aesthetic function, also acts as a stabilizer for the infill structure.
All three elements are available in shades of gray, graphite and white.
utility spaces
Utility spaces, separated with the help of blocks, can serve us in many practical ways. The most common are the development of trash garbage cans and household storage rooms.

By using decorative concrete elements, separated areas look aesthetically pleasing and are consistent with the rest of the surroundings. They can easily be woven into the course of a fence, or combined with any other element made of blocks.

sheds and gazebos
Observing backyard spaces in your neighborhood, more and more often we can come across sheds and gazebos, made of concrete blocks. Such structures, in addition to their striking appearance, also have a very practical use. Sheds allow us to safely store many garden accessories and vehicles, which are protected from rain, snow or, for example, hail. A gazebo, on the other hand, serves as both a recreation and relaxation zone for users of the plot.

decorative gazebos and flower pots
Fence blocks, thanks to their factory-made chambers, are perfect as gazons and flower pots. In addition, thanks to their strength and dimensionality, this solution can be combined with the fence itself, or elements of backyard architecture.
