What is a flanking paving block?
It is a product formed from cut stone sl abs according to the chosen divisibility directions and then subjected to a splitting process. Fluted pavement in the laid surface behaves like raw pavement, as its 5 planes follow the natural breakthrough. This guarantees long-term stability in the laid surface. The regular shapes of the bearing surfaces of the flanking pavers provide high aesthetic qualities.

Features and advantages of modern pavement made of fluted paving blocks
Surfaces laid with fl uted paving blocks carry the loads of today's fast and heavy motor vehicles, and its smooth and even surface guarantees traffic safety. In addition, they provide comfort for wheelchair users and ladies in high-heeled shoes. It does not require the use of concrete ballast and grout. The surface made of flanking pavers is water-permeable, which is of great importance in the use of the surface. Fluted paving is a modern technology that reduces manufacturing costs, hence the price of the product is about 25% lower than paving with cut planes.
High resistance to weather conditions, including high and low temperatures. At sub-zero temperatures, freezing water increasing its volume has a destructive effect on substances and materials with which it comes into contact. In Poland, ground frostiness reaches 80 cm. It should be expected that in this space the ground will increase its volume and all pavements will work in the rhythm of the cycle of freezing and thawing.
Any mechanical system that is stiffened is an unstable system prone to damage, and such a system is a stone pavement with cement grout. Hard cement grout is capable of destroying the stone material itself, whose compressive strength reaches 230 kg/cm3. The use of synthetic or sand grout results in increased water permeability through the stone surface and levels the stresses that destroy the stone surface.
Fluted slab
The durability and quality of the pavement is also improved by the use of fluted stone slabs. The technology of producing fluted slabs requires absolute observance of divisibility directions, so that its bending strength is the highest for a given block material. In addition, the 5 raw planes in an oflite slab ensure the maximum coefficient of friction in the substrate on which it will be installed.

Pavementmade of fluted slabs does not require a concrete base, in fact, a sand base is the best solution. This reduces the cost of making the surface and ensures better drainage of rainwater into the ground. An oiled slab installed on a sand substrate sits like a tooth in a gum giving stability and durability to the pavement.
